When: Saturday, July 28, 2018, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Where: Sloan Lake Boat Ramp, 5034-5060 West Byron Place · Denver
How to find us: West Byron Place is equivalent to 25th Ave. The boat ramp is a block or two east of Sheridan Blvd, on the north side of the lake. Best bet for parking is in the residential area north of the lake.
The August walk/hike will be a week early, on Saturday, July 28th, so we can combine it with the annual Dragon Boat Festival, one of Denver’s best events. We’ll hike around the lake on a paved path, about 3 miles. Then, we’ll enjoy the festival and dine on Asian delights. There are arts and crafts along with entertainment, and of course, dragon boat races.
Join us on the first Saturday of the month for a walk/hike, geared for easy and moderate hiking levels. We visit different interesting wild places and sometimes do an urban hike at special events. Usually, we meet at 10:00 am. In the summer, we’ll sometimes hike in the early evening. Afterward, for those interested, we’ll meet at a restaurant nearby or have a picnic.
Bring a water bottle, good walking shoes, comfortable clothes, sunscreen and a hat. For more information or directions, call Tom Kellogg at (720) 808-2825.
