The State of Science Education and the Teaching of Evolution, Climate Change, and Other Hot-Button Issues. Presented by Nancy Kellogg Ph.D.
Through an interactive approach, Dr. Kellogg will discuss the current state of science education in Colorado and the U.S. You will learn about the newly revised Colorado Science Education Standards, A Framework for K-12 Science Education: practices, crosscutting concepts, and core ideas, and the Next Generation Science Standards. We will examine how the standards address evolution, climate change, and ecological issues. Science and engineering practices will be highlighted using an example of human impact on biodiversity.
