In October, enjoy a hike along Farmer’s Highline Canal in Arvada. We will walk from Simms Street to Kipling along the canal, walk south on Kipling a short distance, and return on the south side of Croke Canal. This hike is about 2.5 miles and should take about 90 minutes. It is flat and beautiful, and we cross the railroad tracks three times. Those wanting to hike a little more can take a short hike along Church Ditch. Park on West 76th Drive and meet at Nancy and Bob’s house. They will lead the group to the trailhead.

After the hike, we will head to Old Chicago at 8711 Wadsworth Blvd., Westminster for refreshments.

Join us on the first Saturday of the month for a walk/hike, geared for easy and moderate hiking levels. We visit different interesting wild places and sometimes do an urban hike at special events. We’ll either meet at 10:00 am or sometimes hike in the early evening. Afterward, for those interested, we’ll meet at a restaurant nearby or have a picnic.

Bring a water bottle, good walking shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. Be prepared for any weather.
