Frog Book Club
FROG is an acronym for Freethinkers Reading Opportunity Group
The Jefferson Humanists’ book club, known as the Freethinkers Reading Opportunity Group (FROG), meets every month to discuss humanist themes in books, both fiction and non-fiction. Past books have included, The Measure, Lessons in Chemistry, Different:Gender through the Eyes of a Primatologist, The Sixth Extinction, Breakfast with Seneca, Secondhand:Travels in the New Global Garage Sale, Klara & the Sun and many more. We’ve also read books on select topics, like Feminism, Living the Secular Life, Famous Humanists, Political Extremism, Robots and Overpopulation, all leading to lively discussions. Click here to see a list of all past discussion titles.
We invite you to join the FROGs. We always have great conversations and a good time! If you are interested in being added to future FROG email notices, contact book group leader, Helena Goldstein (frog@jeffersonhumanists.org).
You also can find notices of our meetings, with location & other details, on Meetup at www.meetup.com/JeffcoHumanists/.
Here is our planned schedule FOR 2021. Meetings are typically held on the afternoon of the 2nd Saturday of the month, usually at a JeffCo Library meeting room. During Covid-19 lockdown, we have been meeting virtually using Zoom. RSVP on Meetup to get the Zoom link. Schedule is subject to change. Be sure to go to our Meetup site to register to attend and to find out about any last-minute changes in location, date, time, etc.
