We as Jefferson Humanists conduct one or two planning sessions per year (typically 2). These sessions are meant to look at the year ahead for all the things that we want to get involved in. They typically include looking at reviewing the past year, the budget, future activities, areas of focus, and especially how we can get the message of Humanism across to our members and the community. Activity coordinators, Board members, and members are encouraged to attend to present their ideas. We always have a good time and the smiling faces show that is true. This meeting occurred on November 3rd, 2024.
From this meeting, at its November 12 meeting, the JH Board adopted the following Focus Areas for 2025:
- Collaborate with secular and other organizations to advocate for the separation of church and state and common goals
- Grow as a welcoming and secure home for a secular community in West Denver bringing people together
- Promote and advocate for Humanism and Jefferson Humanists through the JH Education Fund and active outreach
- Advocate for social justice through Humanist Helping Humanity, making a difference in our community
Watch how these areas Focus Areas will be developed in 2025.
