JH Activities
Jefferson Humanists Activities are posted on this website and on Meetup.com. All are welcome to attend events. Check out our calendar to see the month’s activities. Generally, we have a mix of social, activist, and educational things to do. We ask that you RSVP on Meetup.com or contact a board member to RSVP. Thank you.

4th Sunday - 4:30 pm Monthly Chapter Meeting.
Like every dynamic organization, we have regular activities. At present, we have our monthly meetings, on the 4th Sunday of the month. Most months we have a speaker on a topic related to humanism. We meet at Jefferson Unitarian Church 14350 W 32nd Ave, Golden, CO (map). Go to Meetup.com to see when the monthly meeting is and who will be speaking.

1st Saturday - Monthly Walk/Hike
If you like walking and enjoying the splendor of nature, we invite you to join us for our monthly hike, a nature walk/hike with two routes, each with a different level of difficulty. It is a great chance to get some exercise while enjoying the company of your fellow humanists. Go to Meetup.com to see when the next hike is!

2nd Monday - JH Salon
The JH Salon is an opportunity to practice civil discourse and explore the many sides of an issue. Begun in Paris in the 1700s, the salons gathered the illuminati “to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation” In this time of divide we need a place to practice the art of converstion. You can check us out on meetup.com or our calendar page.

2nd Saturday – 2pm FROG Book Club meeting
(Freethinkers Reading Opportunity Group) Join the Jefferson Humanists’ book group. Each month is a different book or topic. Come to the discussion prepared to share information. See Meetup.com for each month’s topic or book and the location and time. See also the FROG page for a complete list of book titles and dates.

We will include time for participants to socialize and get acquainted, in keeping with our chapter goal of building community.

3rd Wednesday - 6:00 pm (unless noted otherwise) Humanist Heathen Happy Hour (4H)

Building a Humanist Community
Ethics In Engineering
The Jefferson Humanist Chapter of the American Humanist Association was founded in January 2014. Located in Jefferson County, Colorado, we are growing fast and hope to include many of you in our humanist community. Jefferson Humanist has a focus on, but not limited to, Jefferson County, Colorado. Currently, because of COVID-19 restrictions monthly meetings are via Zoom with lively presentations in a variety of subjects. In recent months, we have learned about solar and wind power, mathematics, food safety, reproductive rights, vaccinations, and Fake News. In addition to the monthly meetings you can connect with a monthly book group, a movie group, and other Meetups from our calendar. Your ideas and your energy are needed. You will find something to love about the Jefferson Humanist Chapter, just as many others have.
