JH Monthly Hike: Dinosaur Ridge and Lunch in Morrison – Nov. 2, 2019
When: Saturday, November 2, 2019, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Where: Dinosaur Ridge Discovery Center, 17681 West Alameda Parkway · Golden, CO How to find us: The Discovery Center is on the backside (west) of Dinosaur Ridge (not the Visitor Center). From I70, take the Hwy 93/Morrison/Red Rocks exit and go south about a mile. The parking lot is across the road from the center at the incline on the left.
If you like walking and enjoying the splendor of nature, we invite you to join us for our monthly nature hike. It is a great chance to get some exercise while enjoying the company of your fellow humanists.
The last hike of the season will be a fairly easy walk under two miles with some elevation change at Dinosaur Ridge. We will start at the Discovery Center on the west side of the ridge, and walk to the dinosaur footprints and back along the paved path, stopping to see dinosaur bones and fossils along the way.
After the hike, we’ll head down to Morrison for lunch. There are a lot of good restaurants. Any suggestions?
Call Tom at (720) 808-2825 for more information and directions.
Join us on the first Saturday of the month for a walk/hike, geared for easy and moderate hiking levels. We visit different interesting wild places and sometimes do an urban hike at special events. We’ll either meet at 10:00 am or sometimes hike in the early evening. Afterward, for those interested, we’ll meet at a restaurant nearby or have a picnic.
Bring a water bottle, good walking shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. Be prepared for any weather.
