Genesee Mountain Park, only 10 minutes up I70 from Golden, offers some of the most incredible views anywhere. From the main parking lot, we’ll hike to the top of Genesee Mountain where you can see a sweeping panorama of the Continental Divide and Denver. It is about two miles round trip on a well-established trail of a moderate hiking level. JH member Charlie Carcano will be your trail guide. Tom will bring a picnic lunch for everyone.

Join us on the first Saturday of the month for a walk/hike, geared for easy and moderate hiking levels. We visit different interesting wild places and sometimes do an urban hike at special events. We’ll either meet at 10:00 am or sometimes hike in the early evening. Afterward, for those interested, we’ll meet at a restaurant nearby or have a picnic.
Bring a water bottle, good walking shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. Be prepared for any weather.
