When: Saturday, April 6, 2019, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Where: Clear Creek Trail, Wheat Ridge, CO How to find us: The Youngfield trailhead parking lot is few blocks north of the Applewood shopping center on the east side between 38th and 44th Avenues in west Wheat Ridge. It is on the south side of Clear Creek.
There are some amazing natural open spaces tucked away in places like the Clear Creek Open Space Corridor through Golden and Wheat Ridge. Our favorite hike goes from Youngfield east to kipling along the Clear Creek Trail, but we have not hiked west from Youngfield, so that is what we will do to kick off the 2019 hiking season.
This is easy hiking (well, walking actually) along a paved level path through some gorgeous natural scenery. We will hike about 3 or 4 miles. Afterward, we’ll have dinner and drinks at a reasonably priced restaurant nearby.
Join us on the first Saturday of the month for a walk/hike, geared for easy and moderate hiking levels. We visit different interesting wild places and sometimes do an urban hike at special events. Usually, we meet at 10:00 am but sometimes hike in the early evening. Afterward, we meet at a nearby restaurant or have a picnic.
Bring a water bottle, good walking shoes, comfortable clothes, sunscreen, and a hat. Be prepared for any weather. For more information or directions, call Tom Kellogg at (720) 808-2825.
