When: Tuesday, November 28, 2017, 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Where: HHS Building, downtown, 1961 Stout St · Denver, Across the street from Cory Gardner’s office
Forbes described the GOP tax bill as “the end of all economic sanity in Washington.” Even the GOP senators admit that they are supporting this bill simply because their rich donor will cut off campaign donations if they don’t get a tax break, as reported by Politico and the Daily Beast.
A mass protest may still sway a few of the GOP senators if we make it clear they will not be re-elected if they pass this travesty. And while you’re there, sign the petition for the American Anti-Corruption Act. We’ll have a table set up to one side. Look for the yellow “Represent.Us” T-shirt.

Protest Details
We’ll be at the HHS building in downtown Denver, located directly across the street from Senator Cory Gardner’s Denver offices.
We will urge Senator Cory Gardner to reject the current Senate Tax Bill which is likely to come to the floor the week following Thanksgiving. A coalition of community leaders, everyday people, and representatives from advocacy organizations will share personal stories and lay out how the current proposed legislation would hurt thousands of Coloradans and Americans.
Gardner has repeatedly shown interest in supporting this legislation and claims that his constituents continue to share stories with him supporting his position. Gardner claims that this will “grow the economy and create more jobs” but the reality is that real Coloradans disagree and feel like this is a threat to their way of life. Teacher, students, professionals, the elderly, people with disabilities, and the majority of Americans know that this legislation will only make the pursuit of a better life much more difficult, while only a few at the very top of the income ladder will benefit.
Make plans to attend what might be our last push against this disastrous bill, of which Forbes Magazine said “will be the start of a decades-long economic policy disaster unlike any other that has occurred in American history.” Let’s raise our voices in unified protest to let Senator Gardner know that we expect him to vote IN LINE with the interests of Coloradans, and not with special interests, billionaires, and mega corps.
If the permit for some reason is not approved we can just do the conference in front of the US Customs office (Cory Gardner’s Building) 721 19th st. which is about 100 yards from where we are planning to hold the press conference. Individisible and ProgressNow have already come up with a worst case scenario of moving to Skyline Park if all else fails.
Organized by the Colorado chapters of Progress Now, People Demanding Action, Bell Policy Center, Interfaith Alliance.
